Fascination With Gestalts

I remember clearly what really hooked me to Transformers figures. Well, the term 'figure' was not all that relevant back then. As a young boy, it was definitely a 'toy' rather than 'figure'.

The art of shifting to the vehicle form to robot form is an all-classic one of course. You can't help but wonder the amazing feat this figures possess. Not only you got yourself a sleek & awesome looking jet, you also get to 'morph' this aircraft into a striking robot.

But one unique feature that really thrilled me was the ability to combine with other robots to form a much bigger figure. This much bigger robot can be comprised of 3, 4, 5 or 6 different smaller robots and ultimately termed as 'combiners' or 'Gestalts'

By definition, as quoted from www.wikipedia.com, "The term 'Combiner' (sometimes called 'Gestalt') refers to a sub-group of Transformers able to combine their bodies and minds into a singular, larger, more powerful super-robot. [....] The term "Combiner" comes from the sub-group's ability to "combine" into a larger robot."
